WELCOME HOME

At Freedom Church, Jesus has completely changed our lives. We believe without a doubt that Jesus loves you. We exist to reach people to know God, and we accomplish this mission through our "high five" values. Because of Jesus' love for us, we reach, grow, serve, give, and connect; and we encourage everyone who is part of our church to do the same!

OUR STORY

Freedom Church in Gallatin, Tennessee, was founded in 2002 with a vision to create a welcoming, Christ-centered community. The church initially held services in the Hendersonville High School auditorium before moving to its current location on Freedom Church Road in Gallatin. Over the years, it has grown into a thriving congregation dedicated to reaching people and helping them know God.

Affiliated with the General Baptist denomination, Freedom Church offers contemporary worship experiences featuring live Christian music. The church’s mission is to "reach people to know God," and this passion is reflected in its ministries, outreach programs, and commitment to the community. As the church has expanded, it has undergone multiple building projects to accommodate its growing membership. In 2015, plans were set in motion to more than double the capacity of the worship center, ensuring ample space for worship, fellowship, and ministry activities.

Today, Freedom Church remains a dynamic and welcoming place for worship, offering various programs for all ages, including FC Kids, which provides a fun and engaging environment for children to learn about Jesus. With a strong foundation in faith and community, Freedom Church continues to impact lives in Gallatin and beyond, embodying its mission through worship, service, and outreach.

MEET OUR PASTOR

Pastor Terrell is the lead and founding pastor of Freedom Church. God gave him the vision for Freedom Church in 2000, and he willingly accepted the call and challenge of starting a new church plant, which now, 22 years later, is a thriving church community in Sumner County.

At Freedom Church, we believe in one eternal God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—and the Bible as His infallible Word. Salvation comes only through Jesus Christ by faith and repentance. The Church is His Body, called to worship, serve, and live faithfully. We observe baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and the Lord’s Day, believing in Christ’s return, resurrection, and final judgment.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • We believe that there is only one true, living, and eternal God and that the Godhead is revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit… the Holy Trinity.

  • We believe that the Holy Scriptures are the Old and New Testaments; the inspired and infallible Word of God and therein is found the only reliable guide of Christian faith and conduct.

  • We believe that God created man in His own image to bring Him honor through obedience, and that when man disobeyed, he became a fallen and sinful creature, unable to save himself. We believe that infants are in the covenant of God's grace and that all persons become accountable to God when they reach a state of moral responsibility.

  • We believe that salvation (regeneration, sanctification, justification, and redemption) has been provided for all mankind through the redemptive work (life, death, resurrection, ascension, and intercession) of Jesus Christ, and that this salvation can be received only through repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • We believe that those who abide in Christ have the assurance of salvation. However, we believe that the Christian retains his freedom of choice; therefore, it is possible for him to turn away from God and be finally lost.

  • We believe that Christians should live faithfully by serving in and through the local church, praying diligently, witnessing earnestly, practicing tolerance, showing loving kindness, giving as God prospers, and conducting themselves in such a way as to bring glory to God.

  • We believe that the Church Universal is the Body of Christ, the fellowship of all believers, and that its members have been called out from the world to come under the dominion and authority of Christ, its Head. We believe that a local church is a fellowship of Christians, a part of the Body of Christ, voluntarily banded together for worship, nurture, and service.

  • We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ to be observed by Christians only. We also believe that the biblical mode of baptism is immersion and that participation in the Lord's Supper should be open to all Christians. We believe that although baptism is not required to receive salvation, it should be done for proper fellowship with the body of Christ, just as Christ was baptized.

  • We believe in the sanctity of the Lord's Day, the first day of the week, and that this day ought to be observed by worshiping God, witnessing for Christ, and ministering to the needs of humanity. We believe that secular work on Sunday should be limited to cases of necessity or mercy.

  • We believe in the virgin birth of Christ to Mary. We believe that God, and only God, made this occur.

  • We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, and in the bodily resurrection of the dead. We believe that God will judge all mankind by Jesus Christ; that He will reward the righteous with eternal life in heaven, and that He will banish the unrighteous to everlasting punishment in hell.
