Coming Alive in 2025 // Part 2
Living on Purpose: Finding Your God-Given Direction in 2025
Understanding your purpose and living intentionally is crucial for a fulfilling Christian life. God has a specific design and plan for each person, but many struggle to discover and live it out.
What Does God Want From Us?
God desires our whole life - not just a portion or percentage, but complete devotion. We cannot serve two masters or make God just one slice of our life's pie. He must be first priority above career, family, hobbies, or any other pursuit.
What Does it Take to Live God's Purpose?
Living purposefully requires discipline and developing "holy habits." This means:
Having regular devotion and prayer time
Being faithful in church attendance
Giving and serving consistently
Participating in Christian community
Removing unnecessary "weights" and sin that hold us back
Why Should We Live for God's Purpose?
The cross is our motivation. Jesus gave His life completely for us, so we should give our lives completely to Him. We have roughly 29,000 days on earth - each one is an opportunity to live for God's purposes rather than our own.
Common Obstacles to Living Purposefully
Several things can prevent us from living God's purpose:
Putting other priorities before God
Lack of spiritual discipline
Getting distracted by good but unnecessary things
Holding onto sin or unhealthy relationships
Procrastination in spiritual growth
Life Application
This week, challenge yourself to:
Identify one new "holy habit" to develop in 2025
Remove one "weight" or distraction keeping you from God's purpose
Make God first priority in your schedule and decisions
Ask yourself:
What currently takes first place in my life instead of God?
Which spiritual disciplines am I lacking?
How am I using the time God has given me?
What changes do I need to make to live more purposefully for God?
Remember: The only life that will soon pass is the one you're living now. Don't miss out on God's purpose by getting caught up in temporary things.
